I'm Gilbert Pellegrom.

Content is King

Today I humbly present v14 of gilbertpellegrom.co.uk. The theme is built upon the WP-TYPO theme designed by Chris Coyier and released by Digging Into Wordpress. Although a mainly typographical theme there are a few images about the place, mostly in the form of icons. So huge respect has to go to the great Rogie King at Komodomedia for his amazing work.

Why the redesign? Well there are several reasons I suppose. First off with my portfolio site dev7studios.com now hosting all of my portfolio work, this blog has a clearer, better defined purpose rather than the “all in one” type of site that was here previously. So this new theme is hopefully going to reflect that.

Secondly, considering the above point about a better defined purpose, I decided I wanted to emphasise the content on my site and “make the content king” so to speak. This was part of the reason behind choosing the WP-TYPO theme to work with. I wanted something minimal and beautiful that really highlighted the content on the blog. Hopefully I have achieved this.

Finally after reading Smashing Magazine’s stunning post entitled “The death of the boring blog post?” I wanted a theme that would allow me to have a go at some art directed blog posts. So this is maybe something to look forward to in future posts.

As always I’m grateful to receive any feedback on the site, even if its negative. Your opinions won’t go unnoticed so don’t hold back, let me know what you think.
