Deziner Folio have written a great tutorial for developing a Wordpress theme. Its great if your thinking about making your own theme and is probably a very good place to start working with Wordpress. Don’t be put off if it seems like a lot to take in. It is. But the reward and satisfaction of making a great Wordpress theme is amazing. Thanks again Deziner Folio.

Highslide JS is an open source JavaScript software, offering a Web 2.0 approach to popup windows. It streamlines the use of thumbnail images and HTML popups on web pages. The library offers these features and advantages:

• No plugins like Flash or Java required.
• Popup blockers are no problem. The content expands within the active browser window.
• Single click. After opening the image or HTML popup, the user can scroll further down or leave the page without closing it.
• Compatibility and safe fallback. If the user has disabled JavaScript or the JavaScript fails in any way, the browser redirects directly to the image itself or to a fallback HTML page. This fallback is able to cope with most exceptions and incompatibilities.

If you are a UK citizen you’ve probably heard that our goverment has managed to lose two discs of highly confidential information of about 25 million British Citizens in the post. The post! Why it was in the post in the first place is a mystery to me but I think I might have found where they have gone.

The all-in-one SEO plugin provides Automatic Search Engine Optimization (SEO) out of the box for your Wordpress blog. Its really quite nice to use. I would recommend giving it a go.

There are plenty of DHTML tabs scripts out there but most of them are either poorly coded, library/framework dependend or bloated with unnecessary functionality. So Grzegorz Wójcik decided to come up with this simple, yet functional tab interface implementation.

As you probably know by now this site gets a new look more often than you go to the toilet during a day. Well… maybe not that often but often enough anyway. So here is version 5. Hope you like the new look. I didn’t like the last one very much and I already like this one better.

As you also probably know this site is never finished and so expect me to still be doing work on this version over the next few weeks. As always any comments/criticism welcome as I like to find out what my readers think. Enjoy.

JSLoader is a dead-simple, non-intrusive “Javascript-on-demand” packaging convention which helps developers and the internet community rapidly develop and prototype applications without the headache of figuring out the witches’ brew of files that need to be copied, included, etc.

All Javascript Libraries are already installed on their server, so all you need to do is create a <script></script> tag with the modules you want to load. Once you’ve loaded them, just use the API like you would normally. Quite nifty.

I’ve been working on making an Asteroids clone for one of my classes at uni over the last few weeks and I have finally finished it. Its called A-Steroids and its written in Java. Why not try it out and tell me what you think. Any comments/criticisms would be helpful.
