Almost March

2.28.2007 | 0 Comments

Well its almost March. It has been a busy month. Iv had lots of uni work for this week and last week. I was home last weekend and I am going home again this weekend for Jan’s (my wee brother) baptism. Iv been working away at my new website which I am developing just now and will hopefully be up soon. So basically Iv been quite busy.

I have started a programming project at uni. Its a machine translator which reads in a file of words (in four languages) and uses a Binary Search Tree (and hopefully other abstract data types) to store and sort the words. So hopefully by the time I have finished it (my Easter holidays) I should have written a language translator. So that is going to be good fun.

Fiona is fine. She is still working away as a Classroom assistant at a local school but looking for a full time nursery nurse job. So prayers for that would be appreciated.

Glasgow Subway Challenge

This is an experiment by some very bored students to race a SPT subway train from Buchannan St Station down to St Enoch station (about 55 secs) on a bike. Quite cool. This is the student life.

Brilliant Legal Notice

2.14.2007 | 0 Comments

This is the legal note from the website oscartorrents.com. Brilliant.

‘Legal’ Note
To those worried about downloading in case they get sued: by our calculations, your chances of getting nailed are way less than your chances of winning the lottery. Don’t think twice about it.

To all intellectual property landlords: we are aware that OscarTorrents might annoy you — but contain your righteous indignation for a while, and think: we’re only linking to torrents that already exist. Face it: your membrane has burst, and it wasn’t us who burst it. Your precious bodily fluids are escaping.

You haven’t beaten us, so why not join us? Think of a new business model that doesn’t involve overpriced pieces of plastic and skanky cinemas hawking cheap carbohydrates while relying on $6/hr projectionists who can’t keep a film in focus — not to mention insulting your audiences by (to pick a few examples) surveilling us with nightvision glasses, searching bags, 30 minutes of commercials and bombarding us with ridiculous anti-piracy propaganda. Take a look at yourselves. Is it really any wonder we’re winning?

Damien Rice - 9

2.11.2007 | 0 Comments

Hey guys. Got Damien Rice’s new album today “9″. Its great. I love Damien Rice. His unique sound of soft, alternative music and abnormal lyrics really appeal to my, really quite wide, taste in music.

The song “9 Crimes” which is the single that has been released from the album is very nice. Also I noticed the song “elephant” on “9″ is actually the same song as “The blowers daughter part 2″ on the “B-Sides” album. Cool. Anyway I was only writing to tell you about that.

Website Update

2.10.2007 | 0 Comments

Hi all. As you can see I have updated the website once again. I hope you like the black and silver. If you have any comments on this new look please add a comment under this subject.

Apart from that there is not much news. Uni is going well. Fiona is coming down next week so looking forward to that. Hopefully starting work a new website next week so that should be good. Peace.

Update - Feb

2.04.2007 | 0 Comments

Hey guys. Well its February and its come fast. Had an absolutely amazing Horizon on friday. Brian Irvine (ex-scotland player) and myself gave testimony and Dave Mulholland spoke excelently. At least one person was saved and there were a lot of new faces there so we’re praying God keeps working there.

Enjoying my course. Looking forward to a programming project we have this semester. Not looking forward to a class we have called Low Level Programming. lol. Should be good though.

Got four websites coming up hopefully so that is going well and still expanding. Starting to build up quite a portfolio now so thats good. There has been some minor changes to this blog and the Horizon website has been updated so check it out. I have been posting some random stuff lately now I think about it. Hope you are enjoying the videos etc I’m putting up.

Fiona is well. Still trying to get used to being so far apart. To be honest I don’t think we will ever get “used” to it but we will survive. Still love her more than ever. Shes enjoying her new job working five afternoons a week in a nursery so she is good.

So hope all is well with the world.
